Product Notes

A Mano Primitivo di Puglia wine is an exquisite Italian red wine originating from Puglia, the heel of Italy's boot. Renowned for its rich, robust and velvety texture, this wine offers a vibrant palette of dark plum, ripe cherries and exotic spices with a hint of chocolate and vanilla undertones. Its intense ruby colour and full-bodied character underscore its bold and complex flavours. Matured in oak barrels, this wine exhibits a perfect balance of tannins, lending a dry finish to its otherwise sweet profile. Ideal for pairing with hearty roasts or cheeses, it provides a quintessential Italian viticulture experience.

Tasting Notes

Deeply coloured and exuberant on the nose, with perfumes of ripe, red fruit, especially raspberries and a spicy, smoky edge from the oak ageing. On the palate it is youthful and full-bodied, with a great balance between ripe, rounded fruit characters including blackberry and blueberry, sweet, toasty oak and ripe, full tannins.

About the Winery

A Mano

Nestled within the breathtaking confines of Puglia, Italy lies A Mano winery, where spectacular streaks of vineyards seamlessly blend with the azure sky. This world-renowned winery is a symbol of quality craftsmanship, imbuing passion into every bottle produced. Steeped in the rich Italian winemaking tradition, A Mano wines boast of profound flavours and culminate in a refined finish.

The origin of A Mano can be traced back to the 1990s when American winemaker, Mark Shannon, and Italian native Elvezia Sbalchiero set their hearts upon the Puglia region. Their vision was to build a premier winery that married American innovation with the age-old Italian winemaking tradition: a dream which has triumphantly been realised.

Today A Mano is celebrated the world over for its unique portfolio of products. Specialising primarily in red wines they transform native grapes, predominantly Primitivo and Negroamaro, into masterpieces of flavour and character. However, their skilled use of never letting the fruity undertones become drowned out by heavy-handed oaking, yet managing to achieve a great deal of depth and complexity in their wines, is what truly sets them apart

At A Mano winery, every day is an opportunity to breathe life into every bottle crafted with unrivalled finesse. It is a place where tradition meets innovation meets unparalleled passion. The wines they produce are living testaments to the soul that permeates through the winemaking process. Made with dedication, these wines present an experience that lingers in the palate and is beautifully encapsulated in the winery's name, A Mano, which translates to 'by hand', a nod to the meticulous detail woven into every bottle.

Inspired by a profound love for wine, the A Mano winery is about more than the creation of superior quality wines; it's a testament to a love story that found expression in the soulful notes of an enduring vintage. And so the story of A Mano unfolds, surrounded by the beautiful landscape of Puglia the joy of creating every bottle culminates in a melody of flavours that is sure to enrich every discerning palate.
