Product Notes

Groot Constantia Shiraz is a sumptuous red wine hailing from South Africa's oldest wine estate. This exquisite wine boasts complex layers of red and dark berry flavours, paired with a gentle spice and chocolate undertones. The nose is met with dense aromas of dark cherry and blackberry, balanced by light oak nuances. On the palate, this wine displays ultimate smoothness and elegance, set off by rich tannins that contribute to a long, satisfying finish. Best paired with red meat dishes and strong cheeses, Groot Constantia Shiraz encompasses the finest of the vineyard's heritage and meticulous craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes

The warm ripening conditions of the 2016 bring out the riper side of this grape variety. Savoury notes are supported by liquorice and black pepper, as well as ripe plums and a hint of smoke. The wine shows beautiful intensity on the palate. The natural acidity adds freshness to the wine, and tannins are soft and approachable.
