About the Winery

Maculan

Nestled in the heart of Italy's Veneto region, Maculan winery is an embodiment of Italy's enchanting marriage of tradition, innovation, and ardour. Influencing this rich wine landscape for over three generations, the Maculan family diligently crafts its wines based on traditional winemaking techniques, refined with contemporary taste profiles. It is this hybrid approach that bestows each bottle with a distinct personality that transcends seasons and styles.

Located in Breganze, a town with a profound history of viticulture, Maculan winery thrives in the mineral-rich and exceptional terroir, unique to this particular micro-climate. This terroir facilitates a diverse range of grape growth, including rare native Vespaiolo grapes. These, along with international staples like Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, form the crux of their wine production.

The winery, led by Fausto Maculan since 1970s, is famous for its dedication to quality and consistency. He moulded the Maculan’s philosophy of merging tradition with evolution. Fausto and his daughters Angela and Maria Vittoria have passionately directed their winery towards maintaining the high standards set by their ancestors yet keeping receptivity to modern wine production techniques.

Maculan winery takes pride in their acclaimed sweet wines, such as their Torcolato, a wine made from the Vespaiolo grape that has been a recipient of multiple international awards. Alongside this is their offering a portfolio of red and whites that extends from plush, vibrant whites wines to elegant, complex reds.

This winery offers a varied and rich experience that goes beyond the simple pleasure of tasting. Visitors from around the world are welcome to their 40 hectares estate to indulge in tours, tastings and events, all set against the backdrop of breath-taking vineyard views.

Embracing traditions while adopting innovations, the Maculan winery weaves a complex tale into every bottle it produces. Few wineries encapsulate the quintessential Italian passion for winemaking, and love for life, as beautifully as Maculan does.

And so, the Maculan winery stands as a testament to not only the exceptional flavours found in each wine but also, the family’s ardent commitment to preserving and evolving the art of winemaking.
