Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey-Chambertin wine is a stunning expression of the finest Burgundy's terroir. With its deep ruby hue and luscious fruit intensity, it captivates the senses instantly. Engulfed in the rich scent of dark berries, hints of cocoa, spice and earthy undertones, this French classic truly represents Gevrey-Chambertin's charisma. Its perfect balance of tannins, cherry flavours and enduring finish, elegantly illustrates the maturity of the Pinot Noir grapes used. Aged meticulously in oak barrels, the wine's complexity and depth of flavour makes it a delightful choice for discerning wine enthusiasts. Enjoy this majestic embodiment of French elegance.

Tasting Notes

This Pinot Noir is a deep garnet red in colour. On the nose are intense aromas of black plum, blackberry and ripe raspberry, with dried floral hints. The palate is fleshy and smooth with fine, silky tannins and excellent length.

About the Winery

Jean-Claude Boisset

Jean-Claude Boisset is an esteemed French winery steeped in tradition and elegance. Established in 1961, this family-run business has evolved into a world-class winemaking company, renowned across the globe. Nestled in the idyllic region of Burgundy, the winery combines classic techniques with state-of-the-art technology to produce an outstanding range of wines.

It is Jean-Claude Boisset himself who initiated this remarkable journey. Born to a family of humble farmers, he showed his entrepreneurial spirit at the tender age of just 18. On a mission to revolutionise the Burgundy wine industry he created the now adored Jean-Claude Boisset winery and has ensured that quality and distinction remain at its core.

Over the span of six decades, the winery has grown immensely, guided by Jean-Claude’s visionary approach. Today his children, Nathalie and Jean-Charles, continue the family tradition, infusing passion and commitment into every aspect of the business.

The devotion to producing an excellent portfolio is embodied in the winery's grand vineyard estate, spread over 20 hectares. The vineyard is home to some exceptional grape varieties, grown with meticulous care in the rich soils of Burgundy. Each bottle of Jean-Claude Boisset wine is testimony to the artistry and precision that goes into cultivating these exquisite vines.

Despite the undeniable modernisation, tradition is still deeply etched into every facet of the winery. Each grape is handpicked and only native yeast is used during fermentation. Converting to organic farming in 2005 was another significant step that highlighted their commitment to environmental care.

Moreover, every wine is tasted and approved by an expert panel before it's deemed fit for consumers. This ensures that only the finest and purest wine reaches customers, promising an experience of unadulterated pleasure in every sip.

A visit to the Jean-Claude Boisset winery is a journey through time. From the ancient cellars to the cutting-edge winemaking facilities each corner tells a story. A testament to an illustrious past and a promising future Jean-Claude Boisset winery is truly a symbol of wine-making excellence.
