About the Winery

Librandi

Nestled in the heart of southern Italy's Calabria region, Librandi winery is a beacon of fine Italian wine craftsmanship. Pioneers in the cultivation of organic and biodynamic wines, the winery has transcended ordinary production methods, to create a multitude of flavours that resonate with every palette and occasion.

Emerging from humble beginnings, the winery has been driven by the passion and devotion of the Librandi family. In the early 1950s, Antonio and Nicodemo Librandi embarked on a journey to revive the historical vineyards — a pursuit that has culminated in the flourishing estate one can observe today. The family’s commitment to preserving the integrity of the region, the respect for nature and nurturing of ancient grape varieties has earned them high regard in the global wine circle.

Covering an expansive 350 hectares, the vineyard is home to a diverse collection of grapes, from the quintessentially Italian Gaglioppo and Magliocco to international favourites like Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each carefully selected variety contributes to the unique blends that Librandi winery is celebrated for.

Situated amidst arresting verdant landscapes, the winery offers an enthralling wine-tasting experience. Visitors are not only treated to a range of exceptional wines but are also privy to the behind-the-scenes of the wine-making process.

In addition to their distinctive wines, Librandi also produces quality extra virgin olive oil from trees aged around 200 years. Their meticulous approach, borrowed from wine making, has resulted in an olive oil of unparalleled quality.

From their eco-friendly practices to their adherence to traditional wine-making techniques, Librandi winery exemplifies the essence of authentic Italian viticulture. Ensuring each wine telling a story that is deeply-rooted in the rich history and heritage of Calabrian culture, has enabled them to capture the hearts (and taste buds) of wine connoisseurs across the globe. It's a journey of flavour, tradition and passion etched in every bottle, and one which the Librandi family warmly invite you to partake in.
