Product Notes

Tenuta San Leonardo's San Leonardo wine is an exquisite blend primarily made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, and Merlot grapes. This Italian treasure boasts a profusion of lush flavours, leading with intense notes of dark fruit, toasted oak, spice, and a hint of tobacco. It's velvety on the palate with finely structured tannins and a gracefully enduring finish. A rich, robust red wine perfect for hearty meals. Its remarkable complexity and depth, along with its notable ageing potential, have earned it high praise in international wine circles, affirming its stature as one of Trentino's most celebrated wines.

Tasting Notes

This wine is likely to have the broadest drinking window of any modern San Leonardo. Despite the deep purple colour, it is already open and generous on the nose, with vivid ripe morello cherry fruit. The gentle extraction has imbued the wine with a cashmere texture even at this young stage, while the palate is lifted by the leafy, currant-bud notes that are San Leonardo’s signature, reflecting as they do the influence of cool air flowing down from the Dolomites. Balance, charm, and great ageing potential – this San Leonardo has it all.
