Product Notes
Crystallum Peter Max Pinot Noir stands as a testament to South Africa's burgeoning reputation in the vinicultural world. Its deep ruby colour instantly captivates the eye, while its intoxicating aromas of ripe cherry, delicate violet, and a hint of oaky spice envelop the senses. On the palate, you can revel in complex notes of star anise, sweet red berries, and touches of tobacco leaf, all perfectly balanced with well-integrated tannins. This is a medium-bodied, beautifully layered wine: velvety, elegant, and brimming with sophistication. A wine that evolves gracefully, revealing a deep, lingering finish that begs for a second glass.
Tasting Notes
A slightly more savoury and distinctly Burgundian expression featuring enhanced earthiness from cloves and tree bark. The red fruits are there in abundance, most notably wild strawberries and rhubarb, while there is a red apple skin quality to the tannins. The finish is all crushed mulberries and salted cherries, adding a moreish finish that makes the wine dangerously drinkable in spite of its ageing potential.
