Product Notes

Tenute Lunelli's Tenuta Castelbuono Carapace is a superb Italian wine imbued with an exquisite deep red hue. Originating from the sun-kissed vineyards of Umbria, it presents a beautiful harmony of captivating aromas - lush dark fruits, subtle spices and a hint of oak. The palate is robust yet elegant, expressing a perfect balance between tannins and acidity. Offering luscious black cherry, plum, and mocha notes, with a smoky mineral undertone, it finishes with a savoury edge. This wine is a testament to Tenute Lunelli's commitment to showcasing the region's authentic terroir. Truly, a remarkable sensory journey to Italy's heart.

Tasting Notes

A deep, luminous ruby red in colour; concentrated and refined. The nose is a triumph of blackberry jam and blueberries – typical of the variety – with attractive and intense notes of cherries in brandy, carob and rose petals. Its traditionally-styled profile is further enhanced by liquorice and chocolate notes. It has a distinct creaminess on the palate, along with very powerful, mellow fruit. The finish is long and persistent, with precisely defined tannins of rare finesse, elegance and gentleness.
