Product Notes

Badia a Coltibuono's Chianti Classico Riserva Cultus wine is an exquisite Italian delight steeped in tradition. Hailing from their Tuscan vineyards, this wine is intensely rich with inviting aromas of ripened fruits and undertones of spice. A robust lusciousness on the palate highlights the textured layers of plum, cherry, and vanilla, harmonising exquisitely with subtle oak influences. As a Riserva, this wine has been matured longer, intensifying the complexities within, resulting in a wine of incomparable depth, character, and finesse. This full-bodied Chianti Classico Riserva Cultus is a testament to the masterful winemaking craft at Badia a Coltibuono.

Tasting Notes

Elegant balsamic notes prelude layers of cherry, floral notes, liquorice and chocolate. Warm on the palate but with great harmony between the full texture and a lifted finish.

About the Winery

Badia a Coltibuono

Dating back to 1051, Badia a Coltibuono is one of the oldest wineries in Italy. Nestled in the verdant heart of Tuscany’s Chianti Classico region, its name translates as the 'Abbey of the Good Harvest,' a fitting moniker reflecting the bounty of the surrounding vineyards.

The historic property was once a medieval monastery, owned by the Vallombrosan order of monks. In the 19th Century it was purchased by the Stucchi Prinetti family, who transformed it into the prominent winery that it is today.

Badia a Coltibuono is famed for producing some of Italy's finest organic wine from traditional grape varieties, including Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero, and Trebbiano Toscano. Each bottle offers a seamless blend of the rich culture and exquisite flavours that characterise the region. Their commitment to organic farming and biodiversity has positioned them at the forefront of sustainable viniculture, ensuring a harmony with the environment that ensures superior quality in every glass.

Visitors to the winery can embrace the full experience with vineyard tours, tasting sessions, and cooking classes. There are also a selection of boutique bedrooms and apartments for overnight stays, each exuding rustic charm and offering spectacular Tuscan views. The restaurant, offering locally-sourced traditional Tuscan cuisine, is noticeably a highlight, with diners treated to the perfect pairing of delectable dishes and Coltibuono’s own fine wine’s.

Art and history lovers will find plenty to admire, from the ancient frescoes in the Romanesque abbey, to the 'Alla Coltibuono' exhibition, chronicling the rich heritage of this esteemed winery.
