Exhibiting a deep, ruby red colouration, the wine impresses with a rich bouquet of red fruits and delicate spicy undertones. It’s matured for two years in oak barrels, allowing for a complex flavour profile laced with ripe cherries, earthy tobacco, and a hint of toasted almonds. Full-bodied and well-tannined, Sangioveto Toscana boasts an incredibly smooth, harmonious finish. This meticulously crafted wine pairs impeccably well with hearty beef dishes, enhancing culinary experiences. It embodies Tuscan elegance and the mastery of Italian viticulture.

About the Winery

Badia a Coltibuono

Dating back to 1051, Badia a Coltibuono is one of the oldest wineries in Italy. Nestled in the verdant heart of Tuscany’s Chianti Classico region, its name translates as the 'Abbey of the Good Harvest,' a fitting moniker reflecting the bounty of the surrounding vineyards.

Each bottle offers a seamless blend of the rich culture and exquisite flavours that characterise the region. Their commitment to organic farming and biodiversity has positioned them at the forefront of sustainable viniculture, ensuring a harmony with the environment that ensures superior quality in every glass.

Visitors to the winery can embrace the full experience with vineyard tours, tasting sessions, and cooking classes. There are also a selection of boutique bedrooms and apartments for overnight stays, each exuding rustic charm and offering spectacular Tuscan views. The restaurant, offering locally-sourced traditional Tuscan cuisine, is noticeably a highlight, with diners treated to the perfect pairing of delectable dishes and Coltibuono’s own fine wine’s.

Art and history lovers will find plenty to admire, from the ancient frescoes in the Romanesque abbey, to the 'Alla Coltibuono' exhibition, chronicling the rich heritage of this esteemed winery.
