Tasting Notes

Pale gold with a vibrant shine. Explosion of citrus fruits first, lime and ripe lemon, then white flowers, freshly crushed almonds and a nice minerality, to finish with notes of gunflint and flint. Nose- Elegant texture, rich in fat on the palate, with a ripe tart line. Crisp citrus flavour: lime juice, lemon, grapefruit, some lovely aromatic notes of passion fruit and a crisp zinc feel on the finish.

About the Winery

Baron Edmond de Rothschild - Rimapere

Situated amidst the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Marlborough region in New Zealand, the Rimapere vineyard, owned by Baron Edmond de Rothschild, spans over twenty-six hectares of vine-planted land. This illustrious winery benefits enormously from the region's mild climate, plentiful sunlight, and fertile soil, all of which culminate to yield a bounty of premium-quality Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes each harvest season.

The Rimapere vineyard was purchased by Baron Benjamin, a scion of the celebrated Rothschild dynasty, in 2012. Today, Rimapere represents a unique fusion of Baron Edmond de Rothschild's legacies: his endeavour to uphold the excellence and prestige of French viticulture married artfully with the undeniable appeal of New Zealand’s wines. The vineyard, meticulously managed and cultivated to ensure sustainable winemaking practices, is privileged to house some of the oldest vines in the Marlborough region.

The motto of Rimapere winery a testament to its founder's vision, "Diversity, Quality and Tradition,", is not only symbolic of its ensemble of excellent wines but is also indicative of the Rothschild family's inherent passion invested in the art of winemaking. Each bottle uncorked reveals the precise balance of classic French storytelling and vivacious New Zealand character, a distinctive mark of Rimapere wines.
