Product Notes

Ben Haines Flowers Flor Marsanne wine is distinctively captivating with its intricate persona. Sourced from Australia's Yarra Valley, this Marsanne provides mesmerising layers of flavour. Its cool climate origin promises a sophisticated, light body and graceful acidity. On the palate, it surprises with hints of citrus and pear, slightly accompanied by nutty undertones. An invigorating mineral quality dances amidst the light floral scents, giving it a complex bouquet. Aged elegantly, it combines the richness of old-world wines with New Age finesse. Ben Haines Flowers Flor Marsanne is a versatile, vivacious wine, perfect for those seeking a truly authentic vinous experience.

Tasting Notes

Medium-bodied, naturally fermented, Flor-aged then oxidatively aged on ullage for 10 years. A project long in the making, long in patience. Marsanne raised under flor, oxidised. An anthem to vin jaune but wholly its own thing. It gets to 16% without fortification (it started in barrel in 2011 at 12%!) Curious and wonderful thing. I’m so grateful for things like this happening in Australia.

About the Winery

Ben Haines

Located amongst the verdant hills of Victoria, Australia, Ben Haines winery is a remarkable distillation of one man's passion for viticulture. Not just your typical winery, Ben Haines' love for soil and rock formations shines through in the quality of the wines produced.

Ben Haines, the man behind the exquisite wines, has a deep-seated passion for viticulture imprinted in his DNA from his forebears. This winery allows him to articulate geology, soil, microclimate, and plant interactions by crafting different types of wines.

Deeply dedicated to creating naturally expressive wines, Ben's focus is to incorporate vineyards that have an organic and low-input farming ethic, enabling the wines to exhibit their true character. The result? Superior, organic wines that not only capture the essence of the vineyards but also encapsulate Ben Haines' visceral passion for the winemaking process.

Known particularly for its Marsanne, Syrah, Grenache, and Roussanne, whilst often throwing in a few surprise varietals, the Ben Haines winery never fails to both surprise and delight. These wines promise an interplay of savouries and fruits, refined tannins and elegant textures with a touch of sophistication.
