Product Notes

Borgo del Tiglio Collio Rosso wine is an exquisite Italian red, emanating from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, famed for its vibrant qualities. A splendid fusion of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc offers a sophisticated bouquet of ripe red fruits, spices and subtle oak nuances. It has a lush, full-bodied palate, expressing beautifully balanced tannins, elevated by a vibrant acidity. While opulent and intensely flavoured, the Rosso remains elegant, refined and strikingly persistent, making it a perfect accompaniment for robust, meaty dishes. Borgo del Tiglio's dedication to traditional wine making techniques is beautifully showcased within this captivating red blend.

Tasting Notes

Collio Rosso is a Bordeaux blend, mainly Merlot to which small quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon are added. The small production of this wine comes from the vines of Ronco di San Giorgio, in Brazzano. The soil comes from a grey-brown marl, from which clays suitable for Merlot are formed. The wine is full-bodied with a rich presence of soft tannins, and is salty and persistent .
