Product Notes

David & Nadia's Siebritskloof Pinotage offers a unique experience for wine enthusiasts. From South Africa's Swartland region, its profile flaunts a delightful melange of ripe cherries, plums, and a hint of liquorice. This Pinotage exudes a distinctive earthy aroma, embodying its terroir upbringing. It also harbours an unexpected minerality that gracefully balances its robust nature. Upon taste, it reveals an elegant, multifaceted personality, with lively tannins and a superb, lingering finish. Its full-bodied complexity is accompanied by a delicate freshness. This is an exceptionally refined interpretation of a classic South African grape varietal, destined to impress the palate of any discerning wine lover.

Tasting Notes

An early picked, dry-farmed Pinotage that is changing the hearts and minds of the many Pinotage detractors. From the higher vines of the Paardeberg, cold-soaked and partially destemmed but with the inclusion of whole berries in the fermenters to encourage a semi-carbonic effect, which brings freshness, just one punch down a day and bottled after a year of aging. Forest fruit and dark plums are the main descriptors here, with a herbal earthy edge but also transparency. The tannins are drier than the other wines, a consequence of Pinotage’s thicker skins, but yet this is a bright and juicy wine that is one of the flagship examples in the “new wave” movement.
