About the Winery

Domaine Arlaud

Nestled in the heart of Côte de Nuits, the Domaine Arlaud winery stands proudly as an icon of classic Burgundian wine making. Initiated in 1942, this quaint family-run vineyard encapsulates all that is unique, authentic and valued in French wine tradition.

Surrounded by picturesque landscapes, the winery owns about 15 hectares of vineyards that sprawl across illustrious appellations such as Charmes-Chambertin, Clos Saint-Denis, and Ruchottes-Chambertin, among others. Each bottle produced is an ode to the heritage-rich Burgundy region, mirroring its unmistakable richness, nuanced flavours and timeless appeal.

The Domaine Arlaud is renowned for adhering to organic and biodynamic farming techniques. The vineyard has stayed true to its commitment to preserving nature and hasn’t swayed in its practice even for a moment since becoming certified organic in 2007; and been certified biodynamic since 2014. Their deeply rooted belief in letting the wine express the true character of the terroir, ensures that no chemicals are used that might mask the authenticity of the taste. Unswerving in its dedication, the Domaine uses horses for ploughing the vines, rather than machines, promoting sustainable agriculture.

The vineyard employs traditional wine-making processes combining them seamlessly with modern insights. Wine fermentation takes place in wooden vats to ensure the best expression of the grapes' character, while aging happens in French oak barrels for up to 18 months.

It isn't just the high-quality of their wines, or the unwavering dedication to age-old techniques that makes Domaine Arlaud standout, it's the pure passion that is clearly evident in every bottle. Each handcrafted wine from this vineyard is like a bottled symphony - an extraordinary blend of tradition, innovation and love for the art of wine making.

In short, Domaine Arlaud isn’t just a winerys it's a legacy. A legacy that reincarnates the beauty of French viticulture in every sip, transporting you back to the rustic lanes and rolling vineyards of Burgundy. It is more than just a name; it’s an experience to cherish.
