Product Notes

Domaine Roger Belland Santenay Rouge Charmes is a captivatingly rich wine from the Burgundy region of France. Cherished for its intense ruby red colour, this wine exhibits a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, violets and spices, giving a profound and characteristic finish. The palate is medium-bodied and balanced, featuring harmonious tannins and a refreshing acidity. Its subtle oak ageing infuses notes of vanilla and toast, creating a remarkable depth of flavour. This French Pinot Noir is perfectly suited to sophisticated dishes such as roasted lamb or mature cheese. An opulent representation of Santenay Rouge, this wine embodies elegance and complexity.

About the Winery

Domaine Roger Belland

Located in the heart of Burgundy, Domaine Roger Belland is a renowned winery deeply rooted in the tradition of wine-making. Spanning more than 23 hectares, it is an internationally acclaimed winery producing some of the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines and is particularly noted for its Premier Cru and Grand Cru designations.

The winery was established by Roger Belland, a fifth-generation vigneron who inherited his first 1/2 hectare of vineyards in 1955. Presently, the vineyard is managed by his daughter, Julie Belland. She has carried on her father's legacy and has successfully introduced modern wine-making techniques, without compromising the winery's commitment to tradition and quality.

In the cultivation of their vineyards Domaine Roger Belland shows respect for the environment and biodiversity. They adopt traditional and sustainable viticulture practices; hand-harvesting grapes, and time-honoured wine-making processes that add a touch of character, elegance and complexity to their wines.

Their wines are produced from 13 appellations, spanning from Santenay to Meursault. Each of these wines possesses a unique personality, reflecting the distinct terroir and climate variation of the vineyards they originate from, In the cellar, traditional Burgundy techniques are employed. Fermentation occurs in oak barrels, with the winery boasting an impressive array of 600 litre casks to ensure limited interaction with wood, preserving the pure fruit characteristics of their wines.

Since its conception, Domaine Roger Belland has consistently produced wines that eloquently speak of their provenance. The hard-work and dedication that is put into every bottle, coupled with the magnificent Burgundian landscape, make Domaine Roger Belland a special place for all wine lovers. Whether you're a novice or a connoisseur, there's no denying the raw beauty and compelling stories each bottle of their wine articulates.

The winery also provides guided tours and tastings for visitors, giving you the opportunity to embark on a gratifying journey: exploring the nuances of Burgundian wines matched by the unparalleled beauty of the landscape. So why not, pop in for a visit.
