Taste Profile
Tasting Note
The 2019 Vénus blend opens with a reductive, slightly smoky nose featuring burnt-match and pie‑crust aromas layered with flinty minerality. On the palate, you’ll find bright lemon rind and a lanolin-like texture reminiscent of classic Chenin styles, providing a gently austere but beautifully focused experience. Though reserved now, it rewards time and decanting—showing elegance, structure, and a long aging arc that unfolds through the early 2030's.
Product Notes
Donelan Venus White Blend is a sublime combination of Roussanne and Viognier grapes that hail from Sonoma County, California. A delightful and aromatic blend, its palate presents a burst of opulent flavours ranging from fresh blossoms to ripe peaches. These nuances are elevated by an invigorating, mineral-laden acidity giving it a zesty freshness. Exhibiting hints of toasted brioche and honey on the finish, the Venus blanc marries opulence with elegance. A sheer testament to California's winemaking prowess, it makes a great accompaniment to a variety of rich seafood dishes or can simply be savoured solo. A majestic offering from Donelan.
