Product Notes

Zilliken Saarburger Rausch Riesling Grosses Gewachs is a sterling German wine crafted in the heart of the Saar region. Exhibiting alluring complexity, this distinguished dry Riesling radiates a charming, vivid palate that combines charming minerality with appealing floral notes. It boasts the expressive quality of exotic fruits like lychee, underpinned by fresh lemon and green apple tones. Elegant, with a harmonious blend of acidity and sweetness, it leaves a persistent, mouth-watering finish. Perfectly well-knit and elevated, this wine is a testament of superior viticulture and winemaking, worthy for refinement in any distinguished cellar. Truly a sophisticated treat for Riesling enthusiasts.

Tasting Notes

Delicate aromas of ripe melon, lemon curd and meadow flowers and a cool herbal austerity open a nose of breathtaking beauty and elegance. Deep yet refined orange, passion fruit and candied lemon dance nimbly across the nearly vertical palate, while the grippy texture is redeemed by a pliable, persistent acidity. And the stunning saline and lemon-laced finish is so long that it’s hard to remember a time it didn’t exist. A fairytale wine in a fairytale vintage. One need not lay it down as long as Sleeping Beauty, but we do recommend at least 7-10 years before waking it with a kiss.
