Tasting Note

A masterclass in Alicante Bouschet, Mouchao's namesake wine is made from fruit grown on the Carrapetos and Dourada vineyards, the latter of which provides riper, plummuer Alicante Bouschet. Spicy black fruit, plum jam and black olives on the nose, with an underlying stemmy-minty touch that's a hallmark of Mouchao. The palate is intense and rich, but also delightfully fresh and vibrant, with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Product Notes

Herdade do Mouchão Mouchao Tinto wine is an exquisite Portuguese red blend, aged traditionally in large wooden vats, adding a well-rounded, vintage character. It teems with rich flavours of plum and blackcurrant, complemented by lyrical accents of spices and cocoa. This wine offers a full-bodied, bold taste, balanced by sweet tannins and a vibrant, lingering finish. Ideally enjoyed with hearty meals, its balance of subtlety and depth displays the artisanal skill of the winemaker. Offering a unique one-of-a-kind southern Portugal experience, it's a wine for those looking to enjoy the finer tastes in life.
