Tasting Note

Made from Palomino grapes, mainly from the Miraflores estate: one of Sanlúcar's most prestigious. Ageing and development is carried out in the coastal town of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, here the flor in the solara grows more quickly in the humid conditions, developing the flavours of this Fino Sherry into the town’s unique style. This Manzanilla has a pronounced freshness and saline savouriness, perfect as an aperetif with almonds and cured ham.

Product Notes

La Guita En Rama Manzanilla is a delightful Spanish white wine, originating from the sun-dappled vineyards of Andalusia. Possessing a distinctively light and refreshing body, it offers an invitingly crisp palate of salty almonds, green apples, and bracing sea spray. Its colour - a delicate, straw-like yellow - complements the natural, subtle flavours achieved through an intricate winemaking process. En Rama denotes its raw, minimally filtered state, making it pure and full-flavoured, presenting the true essence of Manzanilla. This unadulterated expression of Sanlúcar's unique climate is incredibly invigorating, pairing exceptionally well with seafood or classic tapas.

About the Winery

La Guita

La Guita winery is one of the most celebrated and well-renowned establishments in Spain. Privately nestled in the picturesque region of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, in the heartland of Andalusia, the winery has been producing quintessential Spanish wines since its inception in 1852. La Guita consistently offers a captivating blend of tradition and innovation, assuring a profound wine experience like no other.

The winery is notable for its production of Manzanilla, a variety of sherry wine unique to this region. With a distinct salty tang derived from the coastal location, these wines are produced entirely from the Palomino grape, a locally revered variety. Under the relentless Andalusian sun; the grapes are ripened to perfection, infusing La Guita's wines with an exceptional flavour and character.

La Guita Winery spans an enormous 38 hectares and houses over 16,000 American oak barrels for ageing the wines. With its high ceilings and whitewashed walls, the wineries’ setting mirrors the traditional Andalusian architectural style, creating an immersive and authentic wine-making experience for everyone.

Visitors also get a chance to witness the unique ageing process that uses the age-old ‘Solera’ method. This is a meticulous process that involves blending younger wines with older ones, resulting in a harmonious balance of aromas and flavours.

Despite being rooted in traditional wine making methods, La Guita is equally committed to sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices. It utilises modern techniques and technologies that conserve resources and reduce environmental impact, setting a great example for the industry as a whole.

In essence, a visit to La Guita Winery is not simply about sampling excellent wines, but rather, it is a journey encompassing centuries-old traditions, passionate craftsmanship, and a deep respect for nature.
