Founded in 1988, Pago de Carraovejas winery is a pioneering vineyard located in Peñafiel, in the heart of Ribera del Duero, Spain. This insightful endeavour came into existence under the proprietorship of renowned restaurateur, José María Ruiz, whose illustrious vision for creating an exclusive Ribera del Duero wine led to the birth of Pago de Carraovejas.

Beginning with just 25 hectares of hand-picked Tempranillo grapes, this visionary endeavour has grown significantly over the decades, yet it has remained true to its commitment to its traditional Spanish wine-making roots. Situated on the sunny slopes of the Duero Valley, the winery, apart from the temperamental Tempranillo, now also produces excellent specimens of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
