Taste Profile
Tasting Note
Deep gold. Lifted nose with volatile aromas of pineapple and szechuan peppercorn lead into some deeply oily, creamy aromas. The palate is intensely sweet, unctuous and voluptuous—given definition by incredible acidity and a powder-fine phenolic grip on the decadently sweet, honeyed finish of dried pineapples. A very, very young sweet wine with a long future, this is at once light and detailed while being incredibly sweet. - Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review, 96 Points
Product Notes
Prophet's Rock Vin de Paille is an exquisite wine hailing from New Zealand's South Island. This rare gem utilises a traditional European winemaking method, featuring grapes handpicked and left to raisin on straw matting, hence its French name, 'straw wine.' The result is a unique, complex, and insatiably captivating dessert wine boasting golden hues and enchanting aromas of dried apricot, honey, and almond. On the palate, it offers a flavourful blend of ripe fruits, highlighted by zesty citrus and balanced with a beautiful acidity. It's a perfectly crafted, luxurious indulgence savoured with each sip.
