Product Notes

Sandeman Vintage Port is a rich, distinctive wine establishing deep roots within Portugal's Douro Valley. Meticulously crafted from hand-picked, select vineyard grapes, the wine showcases an intense ruby colour alongside brilliant, mature fruit aromas. A complex palate, with refined tannins, offers an enigmatic mix of blackcurrant, chocolate, and spice notes. Savour the powerful, persistent finish underscored by black fruit flavours. The wine boldly expresses Sandeman's 225-year heritage of excellence. Long ageing sorts contribute to a beautiful complexity. Its full-bodied elegance pairs perfectly with blue cheeses or rich chocolate desserts. Decanting is advised for sediment and to uncloak its true richness.

Tasting Notes

Deep purple in colour. On the nose intense and complex aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum combine with spicy notes of cocoa, floral hints of rockrose and a subtle minerality. Velvety tannins coat the palate and a crisp acidity carries the layers of flavour onto the harmonious and lengthy finish. This is a powerful yet elegant Vintage Port, with great potential for ageing for many decades to come.
