Product Notes

Davenport Horsmonden Pinot Noir is a delectable English wine. Crafted in the Kent region, it boasts of a rich, ruby colour and a complex, layered palate filled with ripe cherry and raspberry flavours. Underlying notes of smoky oak, and subtle hints of warm spice, contribute to a deep, intriguing taste. This medium-bodied Pinot Noir projects a strong, but not overpowering, tannic structure and a lingering finish, making it perfect for pairing with hearty dishes. About the Winery

Davenport

Nestled amidst the verdant hills of East Sussex, the Davenport Winery stands as a testament to English viticulture. It's a family run business, promising an exquisite wine experience, rooted in the ethos of organic farming and sustainability.

Established in 1991, the winery spreads over 24 acres of lush and fertile land. A hitherto untapped potential, founder Will Davenport transformed the landscape into a prosperous vineyard. He was spurred by a conviction that soil health was paramount to wine quality. It's a belief that continues to resonate through every batch of wine produced.

Davenport Winery employs traditional organic farming methods, keeping the vineyard free from harmful pesticides and fertilisers. Each vine is tended by hand, ensuring that only the finest grapes grace their wines. The harvest, too, is a personal affair, reaping the rewards of a year’s intensive care and attention to detail. A conviction to organic principles has clearly played a significant role in the flavour and quality of Davenport wines.

The winery specialises in a variety of classic English wines—sparkling, white, and rose. Each wine is a celebration of its unique terroir, that distinct “sense of place” that sets it beyond its peers. They are not only distinct but also significant, as every bottle embodies the dedication and passion poured into the land and the vines.

The jewel in Davenport’s crown is possibly it's sparkling wines. Produced using the traditional “Champagne” method, these organic sparkling wines have garnered several awards and accolades nationwide. They speak eloquently, of meticulous craftsmanship and of the enduring legacy of English winemaking.

To sum up Davenport Winery in one word— “uncompromising". It is a place where persistence to quality and organic principles are married seamlessly, resulting in wines of exceptional flavour and character. A visit to the vineyard promises breath-taking views, a warm welcome and tastes that will linger on your palate for days.

Davenport Winery. A delight, a discovery, and a destination in it's own right.
