Product Notes

Zorzal Gran Terroir Pinot Noir is a seductive Argentinian wine, recognised for its elegant complexity. It showcases gleaming ruby hues and a delightful bouquet of red fruits, intermingling with spicy, earthy undertones. On the palate, it is light, yet bracingly acidic, offering the refined flavours of ripe strawberries, subtle oak, and peppery nuances. This sophisticated wine has a medium body and velvety tannins, culminating in a long, luscious finish. Ideal for aging, Zorzal Gran Terroir Pinot Noir pairs brilliantly with rich meat dishes and sharp cheeses. It's an extravagant embodiment of the unique terroir of the Gualtallary region.

About the Winery

Zorzal

Established in the heart of Argentina's famed Mendoza wine region, Zorzal winery is a testament to the fusion of tradition and innovation.

The winery was founded by the Michelini brothers, who boast a rich lineage in the vineyard management and winemaking. Determined to establish a project that celebrates the uniqueness of the Argentinean terroir whilst pushing boundaries of traditional wine-making, they established Zorzal in 2007.

Nestled in the highest part of the Uco Valley, at Guatalary, Zorzal winery resides at a daunting peak of 1,350 metres above sea level. The vineyard's enviable location helps to produce grapes of unparalleled quality, as it benefits from alluvium soil with large stones and calcium carbonate coated gravels. The high altitude also favours cool climates and large temperature swings, which are ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality grapes.

At Zorzal, the winemaking process involves minimal intervention, as the main goal is to harness the true essence of the terroir in each bottle along with preserving the natural taste of the vine. Using an assortment of concrete eggs and large oak foudres for fermentation and ageing, the team at Zorzal successfully captures the purity and freshness of the fruit in their wines.

Zorzal's portfolio includes a variety of red and white wines that are famed for their depth and intensity, with Malbec, the Argentine flagship grape and the exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay being among the standouts.

Visitors to Zorzal winery can savour the fine selection of wine while soaking in the scenic vistas of the Andes mountains. Wine tasting tours are conducted under the guidance of experts and, are paired with exquisite local gastronomy.

Zorzal winery is not just another winemaking venture, it's a tribute to a family passion, a celebration of the Argentinean terroir, and an embodiment of pioneering spirit in the world of wines.
