Tasting Note

Fresh strawberries and cherries with an underlying cinnamon and nutmeg spice. Fynbos shrub and flora unveil themselves with time in the glass. The wine is fresh and delightfully light of touch on palate, but holding a long and delicious finish.

Product Notes

B Vintners Lone Wolf Cinsault wine is an exquisite, full-bodied South African red, offering versatile flavours. With a dash of wild strawberry, cherry and plum, there's a hint of soil and spice. It is soft and savoury, with a defined structure on the palate and a finish demonstrating moreish minerality. The wine is crafted with minimal interference, allowing the natural flavour of the fruit to shine. Its vibrant character pairs splendidly with a range of dishes — especially game and red meats. Grown in granite soils and aged in old wooden foudres, this wine fully expresses its terroir.

About the Winery

Established in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa, B Vintners winery is a collaboration between cousins Gavin Bruwer and Bruwer Raats. This vibrant enterprise is dedicated to crafting unique, terroir-driven wines that encapsulate the distinctive characteristics of the Cape's complex terroir.

Amongst the undulating vineyards and rugged mountainside, B Vintners takes an innovative and intuitive approach to winemaking. Reflecting the history, climate, and soul of each vineyard, the winery showcases the bounty of the Cape with each bottle produced. From the luscious vineyard resplendent with Grenache Noir to the mature bush vine Chenin Blanc, you can taste the history of the Cape through their wines.

The cellar ranges from classic to contemporary styling, combining Old World practices with New World twists. B Vintners are proud to practice sustainable farming, focusing on low-impact production and agricultural bio-diversity by adjusting to each vine's needs in a natural, minimal intervention manner.

Their wine portfolio boasts notes of exotic fruits and spices as diverse as the Cape’s unique climate making each sensory journey a captivating experience. However, the winery doesn’t just stop at tantalising the taste buds, it also offers a visual feast. This is especially so during the harvest, when sacks of plump grapes are dotted against the dramatic backdrop of the rugged, mountainous landscape.

Along with the fabulous wines, B Vintners is popular for welcoming its visitors with warm South African hospitality. The winery’s tasting room features open fireplaces, expansive vineyard views and the opportunity to immerse oneself into the history of the Cape wines and terroir.

B Vintners is truly a pioneer in crafting wholly authentic Cape wines. They are steeped in tradition while boldly pushing the boundaries of winemaking. It's not always an easy task, but the end product is a testament to their commitment to authenticity and quality. B Vintners is indeed an embodiment of the old adage, ‘wine is bottled poetry,’.
