Tasting Note

A deep dark red color with violet tints. Complex aromas of dark fruit with cassis, hints of cedar and spice. Full-bodied and elegant with luscious flavors of blackberry, currant, cocoa, soft oak and warm spices. A core of concentrated and delicious black fruits is framed by light toasty oak and ripe tannins which continues into a long, ultrasmooth finish.

Product Notes

Cousiño Macul Lota wine is a distinguished blend from Chile's Maipo Valley, embodying a harmonious fusion of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This premium wine boasts meticulously balanced tannins that harmonise with a full body, revealing layers of sophisticated complexity. The bouquet is rich and opulent, encompassing exquisite dark fruit hinting at blackcurrants, plums, and blackberries entwined with a delicate whisper of vanilla and toast. The palate unfolds gracefully, bestowing an escalating cascade of amazing depth and silkiness. Magnificently matured, Lota is an outstanding offering from Cousiño Macul, a must-try for all discerning wine connoisseurs.

About the Winery

Cousiño Macul

Nestled in the Chilean capital of Santiago, the Cousiño Macul winery is a sensational fusion of tradition and innovation. Founded in 1856, this vineyard is one of the few of its kind to remain in the continual ownership of the founding family. Cousiño Macul’s patrons can testify that each drop of wine savoured nowhere else but here is still closely watched over by direct descendants of original patriarch, Matías Cousiño.
