Tasting Note

Beautifully refined, with a bright amber colour and complex aromas of toasted hazelnut, salted almond, caramel, citrus peel and delicate rancio, followed by hints of old wood and dried fruit. The palate is completely dry, elegant and beautifully focused, combining citrus freshness and pronounced salinity with layers of toasted nuts, caramel and subtle oxidative complexity. There is impressive concentration without heaviness, with a fine, slightly oily texture and a remarkably long, savoury finish.

Product Notes

Emilio Hidalgo Marqués de Rodil Palo Cortado is a prestigious Spanish sherry, originating from the vineyards of Jerez. Displaying a captivating bronze hue, it offers a harmonious balance of strength and elegance. Its bouquet features intoxicating aromas of spiced nuts, orange zest, and dried fruits. On the palate, the Marqués de Rodil exudes warm notes of toffee, toasted almonds, and smoky oak, giving way to a lingering, spicy finish. It exemplifies the art of Palo Cortado production, making it a magnificent representation of this rare sherry style. Excellent when paired with robust meats and matured cheeses.
