Established by Pedro Merayo, who in his hands honours decades of winemaking heritage, the winery is currently directed by his children, who carry on the family tradition. They organically cultivate about 20 hectares of land, harbouring mainly Mencía and Godello grape varieties. Their careful cultivation of the vineyards ensures that each vintage brings forth the enchanting nuances of the land.

The winery’s unique location in the mountains ensures for immaculate growing conditions - cool nights and pleasant day temperatures, preserving the natural acidity and enticing aromatic profile in the grapes, The vines are densely planted and a significant percentage are over 80 years old, bestowing a particular depth and intensity to the wines.

Among Merayo's popular bottlings is the Mencía. Made from 100% Mencía grape, this wine stands out because of its intense cherry-red colour, beautifully blended with delicate notes of wild forest fruits and fine floral hints. There's also the Las Tres Filas, Merayo’s flagship, honouring the family matriarch’s ancestral home with vineyards more than a century old. This wine is limited edition, only produced during the years of greatest splendour.
