Château Ausone

Tucked away in the heart of the Saint-Émilion region in Bordeaux, the Château Ausone winery marries rich tradition with refined technique to produce exquisite wines that tantalise even the most discerning palates. This renowned winery, named after the Roman poet Ausonius, lays testament to centuries-old roots and an unmatched heritage of viticulture.

Sprawling over an impressive seven hectares, Château Ausone rests on a unique, limestone plateau that presents an ideal terroir for growing indigenous grape varieties. It’s steep slopes and lively climates nurture the Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes; which delivers the signature complexity to the wine. The winery's commitment to organic farming practices confirms that each drop of Château Ausone’s wine is created in harmony with nature.

Inside the ancient stone walls of the château, the wine-making process harmonises time-honoured methods with modern innovations. The grapes are hand-picked and processed using custom-made wooden tools to ensure gentle handling, and then they're aged in oak barrels, to extract their full potential. This meticulous process, coupled with a limited annual output, produces wines with an unparalleled character that defines Château Ausone.

Though relatively small in size, Château Ausone’s influence on the world of fine wine is truly monumental. It has consistently garnered high praise for its impeccable wines, including the highly-coveted Premier Grand Cru Classé A status under the Classification of Saint-Émilion wine. From its velvety texture down to its aromatic finish, every sip of a Château Ausone wine is a testament to its exceptional standard of quality.

Be it a novice oenophile or a seasoned connoisseur, Château Ausone offers everyone the extraordinary experience of tasting world-class wines that are steeped in history and crafted with passion and expertise. So whether you're a bottles aficionado or simply an enthusiast looking to discover a slice of Bordeaux’s finest, Château Ausone is a destination not to be overlooked.
