Product Notes

Château Viranel Aromes Sauvages is a sophisticated French wine that showcases both grace and intensity. Born from the Saint-Chinian appellation’s limestone-rich soils, this wine exhibits a rich spectrum of aromas, including wild black fruits, garrigue herbs and spicy undertones. Its bold, full-bodied palate is reminiscent of ripe plums and blackberries, balanced with firm, velvety tannins. Well-structured with a delightful acidity, it concludes with a lingering finish of complex spicy nuances. Ideal for both cellaring and immediate enjoyment, Château Viranel Aromes Sauvages pairs excellently with grilled red meats and matured cheeses. Truly, a captivating representation of the terroir’s uniqueness.

Tasting Notes

Atramentaire colour, picture of the power of the boar. The first nose, gushes from the label... pepper, black fruit and ripe crushed thyme, fennel, toasted pinion. A musky smell a little reminder ... "Wild Flavors". Finally to the palate what a surprise! The attack is soft and fleshy. It is not heavy, the tannins are still young but full of promise. Dark chocolate, mocha and graphite empyreumatic aromas and spices involved in sensual pleasures. Decant largely to open this wine even more promising and beautifully unconventional. Finally, a boar and a rabbit... just have fun and enjoy ! It can be easily forgotten 5-7 years under good conditions of ageing.

About the Winery

Château Viranel

Nestled in the charming region of Saint-Chinian, the Château Viranel winery carries a resplendent history that traces back to 1551. A family-run estate, it spans across 40 hectares of exquisite vineyards, reflecting the rhythm of the seasons through a delightful palette of sumptuous wines.

The five generations of the Bergès family, currently stewarded by Arnaud and Michael, have been carefully cultivating this enchanting vineyard. Devoted to the art of winemaking, they merge traditional techniques and modern innovation in perfect harmony, producing exquisite vintages with every passing year.

What makes Château Viranel stand out is the remarkable variety it offers. From the rich complexity of reds to the subtle elegance of whites, not to mention the vibrant charm of rose;. Each bottle, carefully crafted, tells a story of the land and climate that shaped it, making the wine indulgence truly memorable.

The plantation includes the classic Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Cinsault grape varieties joined by the sophisticated Alicante and more. The winery’s signature creation 'Trilogie' - a unique blend of three grape varieties, has gained international acclaim, embodying the quintessential spirit of the estate.

The modern yet respectful approach to the land manifests itself in sustainable farming practices. The introduction of natural compost and minimum intervention ensures that each grape produced is not only superior in quality but also nurtures the environment.

Visitors to the winery are greeted with pristine views of rolling hills, luscious vineyards, all while savouring the outstanding range of wines. From vineyard tours to wine-tasting sessions, the tailored excursions provide an authentic, immersive experience into the heart of Château Viranel's winemaking heritage.

With a passion for excellence, Château Viranel has been unstinting in its aim to craft wines that personify the terroir and capture the essence of the region. Laced with rich tradition and forward-thinking perspectives, it is indeed a jewel of French winemaking.
