Pradio

Pradio winery is rooted in the winemaking traditions of Friuli, a region in north-eastern Italy known for its varied landscapes and distinctive wines. Here, the influence of the nearby Adriatic Sea meets the shelter of the Alps, creating conditions that help grapes develop freshness and character.

The winery takes its name from the local word for meadow, a fitting connection to the countryside that surrounds its vineyards. Its approach brings together respect for the land and modern winemaking, with the aim of allowing each grape variety to express its qualities.

Friuli has a strong reputation for white wines, and Pradio’s range reflects this heritage. Varieties such as Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc offer different interpretations of the region, from crisp, delicate styles to wines with more pronounced aromas. Red wines also have a place in the portfolio, adding depth and variety for those who prefer a fuller glass.

There is an ease to these wines that makes them appealing beyond special occasions. A chilled white can sit happily alongside seafood, fresh salads or a simple bowl of pasta, while a red might be enjoyed with roasted vegetables, cured meats or a leisurely supper with friends.

What makes the winery especially interesting is its sense of place? Friuli’s winemaking culture has been shaped by generations of growers, as well as by the region’s position close to Slovenia and Austria. That mixture of influences gives its wines a character that feels both Italian and distinctly local.

For someone exploring Friuli for the first time, Pradio offers an approachable introduction. Its wines invite you to notice the details: the brightness of a white, the texture of a red and the way each bottle can complement food without overwhelming it.

Above all, Pradio is a reminder that good wine does not need an elaborate occasion to be enjoyed.
