About Rutini

At the foot of the Andes, where clear mountain light falls across the vineyards of Mendoza, Rutini Wines has spent generations shaping Argentina’s winemaking story. Its roots reach back to 1885, when Italian immigrant Felipe Rutini founded a winery in Maipú, bringing with him a belief that the region’s soil and climate could produce wines of lasting character.

Today, Rutini is known for combining that heritage with an adventurous outlook. Its vineyards include sites in the Uco Valley, where high altitudes, cool nights and abundant sunshine help grapes ripen slowly. Water from Andean snowmelt is carefully channelled through this dry landscape, sustaining vines that grow against a backdrop of peaks.

Malbec is a natural part of the story, but it is far from the only grape to find a home here. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and other varieties also contribute to a diverse collection of wines. Depending on the bottle, you might discover ripe dark fruit, floral notes, fine tannins or a freshness that reflects the mountain climate.

The winery’s style balances attention to detail with a sense of place. Grapes are selected with care, while oak ageing is used where it can add depth and texture without obscuring their character.

For visitors, a tasting offers more than an introduction to the range. It is a chance to explore how altitude and geography influence each glass and to learn about the people behind the labels. The setting encourages a slower pace: time to look towards the mountains, savour a wine, and appreciate the landscape that made it possible.

Rutini’s appeal lies in that meeting of tradition and curiosity. Its wines carry the experience of a long-established family name, yet remain open to new ideas and influences. They offer an invitation to discover Mendoza. one thoughtful glass at a time.
