Tasting Note

A wine of almost indescribable beauty, made in such tiny quantities that, alas, only a few will ever get to experience it. Think the supple harmony of Musigny Grand Cru (at a small fraction of the price); super-silky and super-pure, with delicate raspberry, rosewater and aniseed aromas, subtle fruit and supple texture and an almost hidden but present liquorice-like concentration on the hauntingly-long finish. Like the finest of Burgundy, immediately irresistible yet with the finesee and balance to last a decade or longer.

Product Notes

Scala Dei St. Antoni is an elegant Spanish wine best known for its richness and depth of flavours. Sourced from the prestigious Scala Dei winery nestled in the Priorat region, this wine primarily uses Garnacha grapes. Its inviting ruby red colour delicately intertwines with an intoxicating bouquet of ripe fruits, clove spices, and a dash of chocolate undertones. On the palate, its intensity is passionately expressed through bold tannins and an equally balanced acidity. The exquisite finish is enduring and rewarding. Scala Dei St. Antoni calls for a firm place in the repertoire of discerning wine connoisseurs.

About the Winery

Scala Dei

Nestled in the hushed valleys of Priorat, Catalonia, Spain, lies the enchanting Scala Dei winery. The winery, with its breath-taking beauty and rich history, weaves an enchanting tale of winemaking that dates back to the twelfth century. It is believed, monks of the Cartoixa of Scala Dei first introduced vine cultivation in the region, setting a historic trend that runs through the local veins to this day.
