About Teso la Monja
Teso La Monja winery, located in Toro, Spain, is a relatively young vineyard steeped in rich, traditional winemaking practices; established in 2007 by the Eguren family. Renowned for their commitment to organic farming and low-intervention winemaking, the Egurens' dedication to preserving old-vines and the native grape variety, Tinta de Toro, has paid dividends.
Having had success with Numanthia-Termes winery that was sold to luxury goods giant LVMH in 2008, the family then embarked on a new venture, with a focus on creating elegant expressions of Tinta de Toro in the Teso La Monja winery. This passion has resulted in highly acclaimed wines, most notably their flagship wine - Alabaster.
Highly rated by critics and famous wine publications, Alabaster is renowned for its power and intensity. Yet, despite this robust character, it is balanced with a finesse that many equate to the Eguren family’s devotion to their craft and land.
In addition to Alabaster, the winery produces Románico and Victorino. All wines offer an authentic reflection of the Toro’s distinctive terroir, enhancing the winery’s leading role in high quality, innovative winemaking from Spain.
With deep roots in Spain's winemaking history the Eguren families passion for excellence has secured Teso La Monja's reputation as vineyard not to be overlooked in the world of fine wines.
