Tasting Note

A mineral-driven Chenin Blanc, showcasing a pale straw colour with subtle green hues. The nose is lively and pure, offering fresh aromas of green apple, white peach, quince, and a delicate floral touch of hawthorn blossom. Underlying these are intriguing notes of wet stone, crushed chalk, and a whisper of wild honey. The palate is crisp and focused, with bright acidity balancing a textured mid-palate and a lively saline minerality. Flavours of citrus peel, pear, and almond interplay gracefully, culminating in a long, clean, and refreshing finish. A beautifully precise and elegant expression of Montlouis terroir.

Product Notes

François Chidaine Les Choisilles is an exquisite French wine boasting of rich minerality from the limestone soils of Montlouis-sur-Loire. This dry, elegant Chenin Blanc exhibits vibrant citrus flavours, complemented by hints of green apple, quince and a subtle hint of beeswax. On the palate, its sublime acidity is balanced by a touch of sweetness. With its intense complexity and bright, long finish, Chidaine Les Choisilles is a complex and velvety wine that beautifully ages and reveals additional nuances over time. Best paired with seafood and white meats, this is definitely a wine deserving a prominent spot in any wine enthusiast's collection.

About the Winery

François Chidaine

François Chidaine is one of the Loire Valley’s most respected vignerons, known for his deep commitment to biodynamics and his thoughtful, vineyard-first approach to winemaking. The estate is based in Montlouis-sur-Loire, just across the river from Vouvray in France’s central Loire region. Chidaine began working alongside his father in the late 1980s and formally took over the family domaine in 1989. Over the decades, he has expanded the holdings to include parcels in both Montlouis and Vouvray, as well as select plots in Touraine.
