Product Notes

From the lush vineyards of Piedmont, Italy comes the classic Fratelli Alessandria Barolo San Lorenzo di Verduno. This premium wine boasts a striking balance of rich, nuanced flavours. The initial, robust notes of ripe cherry and dark plum gently subside into delicate undertones of smoke, leather, and spice. Its robust tannins lend it a pleasing structure, rounding off the overall experience on the palate. With its deep garnet hue and powerful structure, this Barolo adds a touch of Italian elegance to any occasion. Decant this brilliant wine for an optimal tasting experience, and perfectly pair it with game, mushrooms or truffle-based dishes.

Tasting Notes

A classic Verduno style Barolo. A vineyard near Monvigliero but a little lower and with more sand and less clay in it. Pretty and delicate aromas. Ample, soft round fruit. Full and sensual berry and plum fruit with some fresh-cut flower high notes. Very attractive.

About the Winery

Fratelli Alessandria

Situated in the heart of the Piedmont region in Italy, the Fratelli Alessandria winery is making waves in the world of traditional wine production. Ancient yet innovative, this winery is a testament to the timeless appeal of the Piedmontese viticulture tradition.

The winery has changed a great deal from its initially humble beginnings in the early 19th century. Today, the Fratelli Alessandria estate spans over 12 hectares of fertile vineyards. These vineyards are predominantly nestled in the time-honoured vine-growing areas of Verduno and Monvigliero. The winery, renowned for the indigenous grape varieties, has mastered the art of growing the Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto varieties. Their wines reflect the enticing subtleties of the Italian terroir, and provide a delightful drinking experience.

Fratelli Alessandria maintains a commitment to preserving the environment, using non-intrusive farming techniques to keenly nurture their vines. Grape cultivation is influenced by the biodynamic farming principles, eschewing the use of artificial chemicals in favour of natural alternatives. As a result, their wines not only taste sublime, but are also produced in a responsible and caring manner. This practice has clearly paid dividends, with the winery consistently producing wines that are rated amongst the top of their classes.

What sets Fratelli Alessandria apart is their unprecedented attention to detail. This dedication can be seen and tasted in their distinct bottles of Barolo and Langhe Nebbiolo: truly rich in flavour and personality.

Its founders, the Alessandria family have persistently proven themselves to be visionaries in their field. With each bottled masterpiece, they successfully honour the traditional practices of their ancestors while trailblazing new paths in the modern winemaking industry. Fratelli Alessandria is undoubtedly a tribute to Italian winemaking heritage and a beacon of innovation++

Every oenophile should make a point to experience the painstakingly crafted wines of Fratelli Alessandria. After all, to discover a bottle of Fratelli Alessandria is to explore the very essence of Italian wine.
