Tasting Note

Aromas of green apple and citrus are echoed on a palate laced with fine stoney minerality from high quality Assyrtiko. All supported by a medium body and crisp acidity.

Product Notes

Gavalas Posta wine is a beautiful ode to the volcanic soils of Santorini, Greece. Despite its small production, it is widely recognised for its distinctive, slightly mineral taste. This wine presents a harmonious balance between acidity and sweetness, with hints of ripe citrus fruits, apricots, and subtle nutty tones. The winemaking approach employed by the Gavalas family allows the indigenous Assyrtiko grape's earthy and mineral qualities to shine through. The finish is satisfyingly lengthy. Perfect for pairing with seafood dishes, its combination of sweetness and sharpness embodies the true character of island wines from the Aegean Sea.
