A magnificent old Tawny displaying aromas of crystallised orange peel, toasted almond, dried fig, honey and cedar. Luxuriously textured and exceptionally complex, with layers of caramel, marmalade, spice and vibrant citrus acidity carrying through an extraordinarily long finish.

Product Notes

Royal Oporto 40 Year Old Tawny Port is a richly mature fortified wine from Portugal’s Douro Valley. Decades of ageing in oak lend it a tawny colour and a complex bouquet of dried fruit, toasted nuts, spice and polished wood. On the palate, flavours of raisin, fig and caramel are balanced by a freshness that brings elegance to its long finish. Smooth and concentrated, it is well suited to slow sipping after dinner. Serve lightly chilled with walnuts, mature cheeses or desserts, or enjoy it on its own to appreciate the character developed through many years in cask.
