Product Notes

Le Ragnaie Brunello di Montalcino Ragnaie Vecchie Vigne is an exquisite Tuscan wine that leaves a lasting impression. Made from Sangiovese grape variety on old vine plots, it intrigues with a bouquet of wild red berries, spices, and earthy undertones. Its well-structured body and compelling tannins blend harmoniously, providing an unforgettable palate experience. Each sip reveals rich fruit flavours supplemented by a subtle hint of oak, punctuated by a gratifyingly lengthy finish. This elegant red wine is a testimony to the mastery of winemaking, best enjoyed with robust dishes. Its charismatic complexity enhances after decanting, truly making it a gem among Italian wines.

Tasting Notes

The Vecchie Vigne Brunello comes from a single plot of vines around the winery, averaging 50 years of age. After the main Brunello, the VV offers up more bullace, forest fruit and red plum, leading to a more serious and tannic profile on the whole that marks it out as a vin de garde. While less expressive initially, the fruit is crisp and the tannins firm, so it just needs a little time to unwind. It is a wine with a great track record for ageing.
