Muscat Ottonel

Muscat Ottonel is a captivating variety of white grape that originated in France in the 19th Century. It has been widely cultivated in European countries, particularly within regions of Austria, Hungary, and Romania, where it thrives in cooler climates. These grapes are also found modestly in pockets of the United States, notably the Finger Lakes region of New York.

The Muscat Ottonel grape is derived from Muscat d’Eysines and Chasselas varieties and is cherished for being an early ripening grape. It tends to exhibit a more nuanced and delicate bouquet than its robust, fragrant Muscat counterparts, characteristically light and floral, with overtones of fresh peaches, elderflower, and subtle spices.
