Tasting Note

Ruby red with an attractive nose of pink peppercorn, cinnamon, cherries and roses, the MCC delivers wildness and perfume in equal measures. Sweet red fruit contrasts the spiciness on the palate and finishes clean, dry and focused with rose petal and cherry notes on the after breath. Good acidity keeps the wine bright and fresh faced, albeit rustic and food friendly

About the Winery

Brash Higgins

Located in the heart of South Australia's beautiful McLaren Vale, Brash Higgins winery is a conglomerate of sanguine romanticism, exquisite craftmanship, and unyielding passion for quality viticulture. The wonderful winery is the culmination of hard work, dedication, and a keen understanding of the land it stands on. Home to a robust collection of lusciously rich, diverse wines, Brash Higgins is truly an ode to Australia’s remarkable wine-making heritage.

The winery was established by Brad Hickey, an ambitious and visionary Chicago native. Brad, affectionally known as ‘Brash Higgins’ after the twists and turns of his journey towards winemaking, has established himself as a true pioneer in the industry. With the help of his partner Nicole, Brad has flawlessly blended tradition with innovation; creating an offering which is inherently Australian, yet distinctively their own.

At Brash Higgins, every bottle tells a story, each one a true testament to the meticulous care and precision that goes into crafting each vintage. Traditional winemaking techniques are married with a love for experimentation, resulting in unrivalled uniqueness found in each of their offerings. Wines are handpicked, basket pressed, and matured in French oak barrels, a testament to Brash Higgins’ commitment to authenticity. Yet his daring spirit is evident in the use of amphora pots for fermenting specific grape varietals, demonstrating a willingness to push the boundaries of convention.

The acreage of the winery is draped with flourishing vineyards that flourish in the region's favourable Mediterranean climate. These abundant vines yield an array of distinctive grape varietals, such as the Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, and the lesser-known Nero d'Avola. The latter specially cultivated and nurtured to produce an intensely flavoured, deeply coloured, and wildly popular wine offering,

Over the past decade, Brash Higgins has ascended in the ranks to become one of Australia’s most sought-after boutique wineries. The authenticity of their wines, the warmth of their welcome, and the passion behind each bottle have ensured this Aussie gem continues to sparkle on the global vineyard stage.
