Tasting Note

A phenomenal Chenin de Loire. This wine shines with a luminous clarity, offering a delicate and refined aromatic profile. Gentle notes of honeysuckle, crisp green apple, white pepper, and ripe yellow stone fruits rise from the glass. On the palate, it reveals the true character of Chenin Blanc—layered and textured, with a vibrant, mouth-watering acidity that brings energy and lift to its structured frame.

Product Notes

François Chidaine Les Bournais wine is a stellar example of Loire Valley's distinguished craftsmanship. This exquisite French white wine emanates an elegant minerality, complimented by an invigorating acidity and compelling depth of flavour. It presents a finely textured profile, graced with notes of ripe pear, green apple and subtle hints of honey. On the palate, Les Bournais offers a silky, tantalisingly long finish. Maturing gracefully in the bottle, it promises an intriguing complexity with age. About the Winery

François Chidaine

François Chidaine is one of the Loire Valley’s most respected vignerons, known for his deep commitment to biodynamics and his thoughtful, vineyard-first approach to winemaking. The estate is based in Montlouis-sur-Loire, just across the river from Vouvray in France’s central Loire region. Chidaine began working alongside his father in the late 1980s and formally took over the family domaine in 1989. Over the decades, he has expanded the holdings to include parcels in both Montlouis and Vouvray, as well as select plots in Touraine.
