Tasting Note

This wine presents aromas of lemon peel, kiwi and freshly-cut pineapple. On the palate, flavours of lime zest, grapefruit and lychee are complemented by wet stone, creating a wonderful balance between acidity and minerality.

Product Notes

Maximin Grünhaus Herrenberg Riesling Spätlese hails from Germany's famous Mosel region. It's a delicate yet complex wine, boasting a bouquet of fragrant floral notes and luscious ripe fruits, particularly peach and apple. On the palate, it yields a delightful interplay of sweetness and acidity, with minerality imparting a slight flinty edge. It's characterised by its late harvest, which ensures an enriched fruit concentration, yielding a wine of both sophistication and depth. Perfect for pairing with spicy cuisine or aged cheeses, this Riesling is celebrated for its longevity, its flavours unfurling fascinatingly over the years.

About the Winery

Maximin Grünhaus

Maximin Grünhaus is a world-class Riesling specialist, based in the Ruwer district of the Mosel, with a viticultural history dating back to the Roman era. Located on steep, south-facing slopes, the estates' celebrated vineyards are divided into separate, but contiguous plots, including the famed ‘Abtsberg’ and ‘Herrenberg’. Each has its own distinct microclimate, aspect and soil that lends itself to singular expressions of Riesling.
