Tasting Note

Asinone is a serious, "grown-up" Sangiovese that trades easy sweetness for sophisticated grit. It leads with a moody, dark profile—think blackberry and crushed violet—but stays energized by a streak of blood orange acidity. What stands out most is the texture; it has that classic dusty, mineral grip typical of top-tier Montepulciano, finishing with savory hints of tobacco and dark chocolate rather than just fruit. It’s balanced and "nervy," meaning it feels alive and punchy on the tongue rather than heavy or oak-logged.

Product Notes

Poliziano Asinone Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG presents the essence of Tuscany in a glass. It is an opulent, full-bodied red wine carrying a rich ruby colour. This classy wine is brimming with flavours of ripe red fruits, spices, and delicate oak nuances, originating from aged vineyards on the hills of Montepulciano. Its complex character is strengthened by lively tannins, balanced acidity leading to an enduring finish. The quintessentially Italian wine is testimony to master winemaking. Enjoy this wine with traditional Italian dishes, red meats, and aged cheeses for an elevated culinary experience.

About the Winery

The name pays homage to native Renaissance poet Angelo Ambrogini, affectionately known as "Il Poliziano".
