Tasting Note

Fairly moderate in sweetness at about 25 G/L RS this is a luminous, golden-hued Chenin Blanc with aromas of quince, apricot, honeycomb, and a touch of orange blossom and spice. The palate is gently sweet but vibrant, with lively acidity balancing flavours of baked pear, citrus peel, and a subtle saline finish. Textural, expressive, and perfectly poised.

Product Notes

François Chidaine Moelleux Vin de France is an alluring, delectable French wine, delivering a bewitching honeyed-fruit richness that's balanced by a clean acidity. This wine has an enchanting gilded amber color and exudes potent aromas of apricots, quince, candied orange peel, and honey. Its soft sweetness pairs beautifully with ripe Brie or blue cheese. Crafted by François Chidaine, one of the Loire Valley's maverick winemakers, this wine utilizes Chenin Blanc grapes, which are hand-picked and fermented with indigenous yeasts. The resultant wine is a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity – a treasure that's worth savouring.

About the Winery

François Chidaine

François Chidaine is one of the Loire Valley’s most respected vignerons, known for his deep commitment to biodynamics and his thoughtful, vineyard-first approach to winemaking. The estate is based in Montlouis-sur-Loire, just across the river from Vouvray in France’s central Loire region. Chidaine began working alongside his father in the late 1980s and formally took over the family domaine in 1989. Over the decades, he has expanded the holdings to include parcels in both Montlouis and Vouvray, as well as select plots in Touraine.
